DroneMatrix is proud to announce a major operational milestone in its autonomous drone deployments at the Port of Antwerp-Bruges, marking a significant step forward in the future of aerial monitoring for critical infrastructure.

Since the start of 2025, the YACOB drone-in-the-box platform has completed 1,099 autonomous flights, logging nearly 200 hours of flight time over the port—one of Europe’s largest and busiest maritime hubs. The data, compiled from January through June, reflects both the scale and consistency of operations and highlights the growing role of automated aerial systems in securing and optimizing complex industrial environments.

“These figures demonstrate not just technical capability, but operational reliability at scale,” said Jacques Nel, Managing Director at DroneMatrix. “Each flight contributes to smarter, safer, and more responsive port operations.”

All missions have been flown remotely by Nordic Unmanned AS, operating from their command center in Norway—showcasing the viability of cross-border drone operations through high levels of automation and robust communication infrastructure.

The YACOB platform continues to serve as a key component in persistent situational awareness, emergency response support, and real-time monitoring, further validating the value of drone-in-the-box systems for critical infrastructure owners.

DroneMatrix extends its thanks to all partners and stakeholders who continue to make this groundbreaking work possible. With momentum building, the path ahead points clearly toward wider-scale deployment and deeper integration across industrial and governmental domains.
