Voka Limburg’s prestigious 2021 Innovation Award goes to two companies: Steenbakker Vandersanden from Bilzen and DroneMatrix from Diepenbeek.
The annual Innovation Award of the Voka Limburg aims to motivate the Limburg companies to join the European link in digital transformation and innovation. This year there were four candidates for the prize: DroneMatrix (with office in Hasselt and lab in Diepenbeek), Belgian Cycling Factory from Beringen (Ridley and Eddy Merckx), IT group Cegeka with headquarters in Hasselt and Steenbakkerij Vandersanden from Bilzen-Spouwen. For the first time two winners have been chosen.
Drones as a service
Among the SMEs, the honor went to DroneMatrix. The jury was also particularly impressed by the high-quality international service, whereby drones are offered to other companies, as it were, ‘as a service’. “A high Made in Limburg character and a strong vision for the future”, according to the jury.
