Founded in 2015 by the Vanwelkenhuyzen family and based in Belgium, grown from the RiskMatrix group and since 2022 together with investing shareholder Nordic Unmanned, global leader of high-end products and services related to drones and data capture.

Our journey
2015
FOUNDATION OF DRONEMATRIX
After years of global implementations of software for the private security industry and experiments with the first available drone technology, DroneMatrix was founded as a spin-off from the RiskMatrix group in Hasselt, Belgium.
2017
Large-scale project (3,8M€) funded by the European Union - ITEA (H2020). The 3DSafeGuard drone has been deployed in the crucial life-saving first minutes of a disaster or accident.
